For twelve years now Hamburg based animation and graphic design studio Sehsucht have delivered cutting edge digital projects which delight and surprise while conveying a simple idea. The latest in a legacy of outstanding award-winning projects, Sehsucht have really outdone themselves. Paper World is a 30 second commercial for the Deutsche Fernsehlotterie (German Television Lottery), a charitable lottery, in conjunction with their advertising agency, Zum Goldenen Hirschen. Using the traditional paper craft of origami as the basis for their aesthetic, Sehsucht employ digital means by which to create a magical world depicting a harmonious community where people are there to help each other. Comprising of 25 talented design and animation addicts, the Sehsucht team have created yet another “special moment to be remembered and leave (its) everlasting footprint, changing the way we think, feel and dream.” I couldn’t agree more.
