Origami Lampshades from The Hague
The latest origami lampshade design, Moth, from Studio Snowpuppe
Hailing from Holland’s capital creative duo comprising of architect, Nellianna and her partner, industrial designer, Kenneth are Studio Snowpuppe. Together they create these gorgeous sculptural origami lampshades. Their latest creations, Moth (above) and Chestnut (below in grey, white, mint and lemon shades) are available in a mouth watering selection of confectionary hues. The delectable combination of marshmellow tones used in their Moth lamp is artfully teamed with similarly geometric ceramics from the colour palate from fellow Dutch artist, Lenneke Wispelwey, and wonderfully contrasted by the maroon ‘Laia’ bench from Alki in this stylish composition from Act Productions.

Nellianna describes the ethos behind Studio Snowpuppe’s creative process in an interview for Etsy, ”If you’re not afraid to do something wrong you will eventually learn what is right. Coincidence is an important factor….” Well, I totally concur that serendipitous discoveries often produce the most delightful results! Modular Artwork System: Ixxi
Ixxi modular artworks
Ixxi is the innovative modular artwork sensation to emerge from Holland. Each 200mm x 200mm tile is made from moisture resistant and tear-proof card and is easily assembled by using a system of i’s and x’s, hence their name. Ixxi has a small, yet stunning range of artwork to choose from their own image bank, or for something totally unique, one has the option of uploading one’s own personal images. Either create a collage with multiple images or enlarge a single image, the decorative possibilities are endless. They also provide a very clean, slick room divider system (above top right at the Design Academy Eindhoven) which can be made of either thin felt with a perforation pattern or a translucent card.
